Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult

'Jack St Bride was once a beloved teacher at a private girls' school - until a student's crush sparked a powder keg of accusation and robbed him of his career and reputation. After a devastatingly public ordeal that left him with an eight month jail sentence and no job, Jack resolves to pick up the pieces of his life. He takes a job washing dishes at Addie Peabody's diner in the quiet New England village of Salem Falls and slowly starts to form a relationship with her....'

What a story... I immediately felt sorry for the main character, Jack St Bride, for having to go through what he had to go through, twice! I won't spoil it for those who have not read it but there should definitely be more stories like this one that have a hint of truth inside the story. The justice system we have may appear to be flawless but I would not be surprised if there were flaws that were kept well hidden. How many people out there have been wrongly convicted and are still serving a sentence....?

If you like a story that makes you take a good look at issues that are surrounding us every day, this book is definitely for you..

This is one of my favorite Picoult books! I loved it and could not put it down. I felt so sorry for the main character and really wanted to see what would happen next and if he ever got cleared. Here is a link to my review of this book: http://ourstack.blogspot.com/2010/08/salem-falls-by-jodi-picoult.html

We have very similar taste in books!
